A Special Reward

Thought I would show you the very cool package I got from the lovely Julia and Andreas Schräpel. I worked with her and the bridal party in the beautiful small town Horgen next to the Zürich-lake a couple of weeks ago.

Not only did I get a personal letter in the card they also included a couple of pictures of my contributions to their exquisite day. Merci! Danke! This really means so much to me.

Bridal party

While on holiday in South Africa, I was so happy to do the make-up of the bridal party at the wedding of one of my dear friends. The setting for this wedding was a stunning farm in the Free State near a tiny town called Vrede. I had so much fun and joy working with these lovely ladies. They all looked so confident and stunning.

I played up her eyes by doing a softer version of a “smokey-eye” using more natural shades of brown, gold and a hint of purple. With the emphasis on her striking eyes I only used a subtle pink-tone for her lips one shade darker than her natural colour. Topped with matching lip-gloss and this look came together wonderfully.

When it comes to party make-up, you definitely want to wear a bit more than you’re accustomed to. I enjoy the combination of strong and powerful eyes contrasting with the softer and fresh rosy colours of the lips and cheeks.

Great films, iconic movie stars, and timeless fashion are just a few of the things the 1950s were known for. Style exemplified class and grace, especially when it came to hair and makeup.

I love the softly curled hair, gorgeous red lipstick, defined eyebrows and rosy cheeks. My 1950's inspired softer and more feminine look.

Going for the bold! Blue is such a statement-making colour at the moment. This look is working because of these lovely lashes.
